Licensed Acupuncturist Laurie Mecham,

Laurie Mecham  is a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine (Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine), certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. She is a Licensed Acupuncturist in Missouri and Arkansas.  She has been practicing Traditional Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine since 2001.   

Laurie Mecham graduated with honors from Southwest Acupuncture College in New Mexico with a Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine.  She specialized in Chinese Herbal Medicine.  As part of her clinical education, Laurie volunteered at Sixth Street Detoxification Clinic in Albuquerque NM.  In her second year, Laurie was awarded the Helio Exceptional Needling Technique Scholarship.  Upon graduating, Laurie decided to bring her skills back home to Missouri and established the Ozarks Acupuncture Clinic in Springfield MO.  Laurie joined the Wellness Concepts Integrated Health Care Team in 2002, also in Springfield.  In 2008 she introduced Acupuncture to the Detoxification Clinic at The Kitchen, a free medical clinic that serves the economically disadvantaged in Springfield. 

Before beginning her studies in Oriental Medicine, Laurie worked as a Respiratory Therapy Technician for more than a decade, serving hospitals across the country, including St. Louis University Hospital, Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Deaconess Hospital, and Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center.  With her considerable experience in both Western and Eastern medicine, Laurie is a firm believer that both systems are complimentary, despite their different approaches to health care.  In her practice, she brings together her experience with Western medicine and her passion for Eastern medicine so as to maximize the care and healing she can offer her patients.

Laurie Mecham's office is located in the Barn at Lucerne, Ballwin Missouri, in Greater St. Louis County (West County).
